After several days of wire brushing and needed scaling the old rust off it was time to paint. We agreed on Por15 and used the pretreatment from the same manufacturer. It contains zinc for healthy bones and makes a great surface to bond por15 to. After that dried, for several days, a topcoat of Rustoleum was applied, and a Blaster undercoating was used for good measure.
This is the second trailer I finished with Por15, the other one looks as brilliant as the day it was first painted
We reused the original deck boards by flipping them over, most of the original deck screws were reusable some new ones were added.
I soaked the old screws in white vinegar for a few days and brushed off the excess rust with a tooth brush, then let them sit in oil for a week.
