Using a combination of chains and binders, we were able to bend the frame back into a square configuration. To ensure it would remain true, we fixed 40 feet of angle iron to the cross braces.
We added additional bracing above and beyond the original manufacturer's welds. But overall we did not change any of the original design, merely enhanced it.
The tool basket and safety chains were salvageable so with a little angle iron and hammering we were able to use the original steel to rebuild the basket.
The old lunette ring got lost in the shuffle. It was probably reusable and will most likely turn up when we least needed so we went about getting a new 30,000 lb top of the line ring. This was bolted and welded to the tongue faceplate.
